About The Conference

Revitalization of the Meat Sector in Kenya

Kenya's meat sector has significant potential to drive economic growth, create jobs, and improve food security. Recent achievements include meat export growth of 45% in 2024 and 38% in 2025, with export value reaching KSh 18.7 billion in 2025, driven primarily by MENA demand.

The conference brings together livestock sector stakeholders to co-create a strategic roadmap aligned with the NLRA 2025–2035, Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), and Vision 2030.

Conference Objectives

  • Strengthen food safety, traceability, and SPS compliance for premium global markets
  • Boost productivity through genetics, feeds, and climate-smart practices
  • Enhance value chains via infrastructure upgrades and value addition
  • Develop inclusive policies for smallholders, women, and youth
  • Achieve a 50% increase in export revenues by 2030
  • Strengthen KEMLEIC and formal registration frameworks for exporters

  • Export revenues from KSh 18.7B → KSh 28B+
  • Post-harvest losses reduced by 20–30%
  • Improved livelihoods for 7M+ livestock-dependent households
  • New jobs created across the value chain
